The transfer of technology on Bamboo Island was proceeding in an orderly fashion, and all kinds of results kept reaching Commander Xin's ears, putting him in a rather pleasant mood. Whether the Cross-Sea Bridge was completed or not, he was destined to bear the title of a wise ruler of his generation. Never mind anything else—at the very least, the Xin Tribe had achieved leapfrog development under his leadership.

For instance, he was already using products made by his own tribe, such as writing brushes, ink sticks, and inkstones. Paper had not yet been produced, but he could use a writing brush to write on Bamboo Slips, which was already far more convenient than the "engraving" they had used before.

With these independently produced writing tools, one thing Commander Xin had to do every day was copy the Han Rites and Han Laws presented by the Emissary Group.

Commander Xin had no ideological burden about learning the Han Tribe's writing. There were no concepts like nations or ethnic states yet. Everyone was human, and all the tribes were more or less alike. Whoever had more advanced things was the one to learn from. There was not yet any awareness of cultural preservation.

Although the Xin Tribe had its own Oracle Bone Script, there were very few characters. Some could only be defined as "symbols"; calling them writing was a little self-deceptive. They had no system at all. They were neither like alphabetic writing, which could be repeatedly combined, nor did they possess the precise structure of Chinese characters, with components arranged above, below, left, and right.

Since the Han Tribe's writing was so practical and could express anything one wanted to express, why not simply learn it? Besides, learning Chinese characters was not merely about learning characters. One could also
