As for whether the flatbread was made from grain, Yan admitted that he had no idea. But he could tell that the other tribe was powerful. For starters, they had convenient means of transportation—the things pulled by beasts. Each one could seat more than ten people and carry plenty of other goods.
Moreover, the other side could tame beasts. They actually had more than twenty of those extremely tall animals. They could be ridden directly, or used to pull and carry things—in other words, those carts. Yan simply did not know what they were called.
The cooking utensils these people used were strange as well. They were not the pottery his people were familiar with, but something else whose name he did not know.
More importantly, the other side seemed to have come from the east, where they were headed. Could this tribe be the one Biao had mentioned—the tribe in the east that grew grain?!
The Elder had obviously thought of this too. He suddenly asked Yan, "Yan, they seem to have come from the Land of Sunrise. Do you think this could be the tribe Biao mentioned, the one that knows how to grow grain?"
Yan was not thinking about that at all. His mind was still filled with those wild goats. If they arrived any later, the herd would probably escape. Their people did not have those tall four-legged beasts to ride. If the goats ran too far, how could they chase them? More importantly, what would they eat at noon?! That was the life-or-death question. Several hundred people throughout the tribe were waiting with their mouths open for food.
"Elder, we should think about what we're eating today first. If we don't find more prey, we'll probably only last a few more days. If we can't
