A rich fragrance, almost tangible, enveloped Li Wei completely.
It was a passionate yet bewitching floral scent, utterly different from the one on her own body.
She moved her eyelids. Her mind was groggy, as though it had been filled with lead, and her temples throbbed painfully.
Where was this?
Wasn't I in the Inverted Domain, chatting nonsense with that fellow Gu Jinzhi?
Her memories were hazy, as though separated by a thick veil.
She struggled to recall them, but the images came in broken fragments.
She remembered taking down a great many Octopus Monsters, then running out of strength...
What happened after that?
Oh... Gu Jinzhi had come.
Then, the two of them seemed to have talked for a while.
And after that... she couldn't remember anything.
Li Wei struggled, trying to prop up her upper body.
Within reach was a warm yet cool, soft and resilient texture, with a strange elasticity.
She slowly opened her eyes.
What met her gaze were layers upon layers of enormous petals, slightly curled inward, their color like fire and glowing with a faint orange-red light.
She... seemed to be lying on a gigantic lotus seedpod.
The lotus seedpod and those closed petals had formed a relatively sealed space, enclosing her within.
The space was not large. She could barely sit up, but she couldn't freely stretch out her limbs.
She pushed at the petals again, but they wouldn't budge.
"Hey! Is anyone there?!" Li Wei shouted at the top of her voice.
"What are you hollering about? You just woke up. Can't you behave yourself?"
A pleasant female voice, carrying a hint of languor and an oddly familiar tone, came from outside the "petals."
Li Wei froze.
"Grandma?"
She called out uncertainly.
"Hmph." Jiang Xinyue's voice came from outside the petals again.
