The fierce battle continued.
An Orcish rider had just slashed an Aldo Army soldier with his saber. Before he could let out a triumphant cry, a bullet fired from the inner ranks of the square formation struck him in the back of the head, killing him on the spot. Another orc tried to squeeze through a gap in the formation, only to be shot at close range by the soldiers in the inner ranks, his body instantly riddled with bullets.
The Orcish Cavalry had already been greatly exhausted by their long charge. Now, having to face both the bayonets on the outside and the bullets within, they soon found themselves trapped in a passive position, able only to endure the beating.
The Aldo Army worked together seamlessly. The outer soldiers were responsible for blocking the enemy, while the inner soldiers maintained a steady firing rhythm. The bullets continuously reaped the orcs' lives like the precise scythes of death.
Though the orcs had fallen into a passive position, they remained ferocious and utterly fearless of death.
Some orcs ignored the bayonets piercing their chests and lunged forward, their sabers hacking viciously into the arms of Aldo Army soldiers as blood sprayed forth. Others thrust their spears through the soldiers' shoulder blades. Even after being shot the next second, they still gripped their spears with all their might, tearing the wounds even wider.
As the fight continued, the Aldo Army's casualties gradually began to mount. Soldiers at the once-orderly edges of the square formation could occasionally be seen collapsing while clutching their wounds, or being helped backward by their comrades.
"Medic! We have a wounded man here!" an Aldo Army Squad Leader roared as he supported a soldier whose thigh had been slashed by a saber, half dragging and half carrying him
