The sky was filled with stars, and the wilderness was utterly silent.
A faint fragrance of fresh grass lingered at the tip of his nose. A breeze swept past, instantly refreshing him.
Faint campfires dotted the distant city wall. No patrolling soldiers could be seen, but that was normal. What was the point of letting people see them? They only needed to ensure that no blind spots existed in their vigilance.
