Inside the office that belonged exclusively to Lin Xuankong, the tall Lin Xuankong and Wang Ze, Grand Chairman of the Kindling Organization, stood shoulder to shoulder before the thick floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at Hope Square in Shelter No. 36.
More than ten days had already passed since the Kindling Organization's veteran experts, Granny Jin and Wu Xiang, had gone to the other end of the Gate of Advent.
This enormous Hope Square had also been built over the past dozen days or so.
At the very center of the square, four giant human-shaped statues stood guard around a thick memorial stele, the four statues gazing in four different directions.
The enormous human sculptures and the towering memorial stele in the middle were all made of white jade. All five sculptures were around one hundred and eighty meters tall, nearly as high as Office Building No. 1, the tallest building in today's prosperous Shelter No. 36.
The four human sculptures depicted Lin Xuankong in military attire, Wang Ze, Grand Chairman of the Kindling Organization, Granny Jin, the Number One Expert of Yun Yue Nation, and Wu Xiang, the Number One Expert of Yun Dong Nation. On the memorial stele guarded in the middle by the four statues were engraved the appearances, names, and brief life stories of all the Gene Warriors and Gene Experts who had sacrificed themselves fighting for the Mars Human Race since the establishment of the Kindling Organization.
Around the statues, lines of pedestrians walked over with solemn expressions, carrying all kinds of commemorative gifts in their hands and placing them around the memorial stele and the statues.
