It had appeared the moment the clergyman arrived, as if he were not a merciful saint at all, but a battle-hardened soldier, forcing Aurora and Nagisa to keep retreating.
"W-Who... who is he? What does he want?"
Nagisa and Aurora clung to each other, voicing their fear.
Nagisa's words seemed to draw the clergyman's attention. He turned his head and looked over.
"Uninvolved civilians?"
The clergyman spoke as if he had no emotions.
"I didn't expect ordinary civilians to be mixed up with an existence like Number Twelve. I suppose this truly is the Demon Race Special Administrative Zone."
His tone held no wonder at all. Instead, it sounded as though he were spitting in disgust.
"Nevertheless, although this situation was unexpected, anyone who colludes with demons must be prepared to pay the price."
The self-righteous clergyman stopped walking.

Yet when she saw him stop, Aurora was actually provoked.

Aurora shoved Nagisa away with all her strength.

The clergyman had swung down the battle-axe in his hand, mercilessly cleaving Aurora's body and sending a great sheet of blood spraying through the air.

Aurora groaned in pain. Her petite body had been split open by a horrifying wound stretching from her shoulder to her side, spilling a great deal of blood.
