"No. 539"
"Whoosh—!"
At the very top of the Gate of Foundation, the wind howled incessantly, rolling past in wave after wave with a wild fury.
On the rooftop of the enormous inverted-pyramid-shaped structure sat a huge, intricate crimson Magic Circle, radiating a faint glow.
At the very center of the Magic Circle, a book floated in midair.
It was a book that continuously emitted terrifying and mysterious fluctuations, enough to make anyone's heart tremble.
Luo Zhen landed there while carrying La Folia as lightly as if she weighed nothing, and saw the scene before him.
In the next instant, both their gazes were drawn to the book radiating those terrifying and mysterious fluctuations.
"Grimoire..."
La Folia quietly stated the book's true identity.
It was, indeed, a Grimoire.
And not an ordinary Grimoire, either.
Luo Zhen saw these words written on its cover.
—"No.539."
"'No.539'..."
Luo Zhen's eyes flickered.
"Do you recognize that Grimoire?"
La Folia immediately asked him.
"Yeah." Luo Zhen nodded and said, "That's a Grimoire specifically used for manipulating space."
Unlike "No.282," which could only be used to record vast amounts of knowledge, the power of "No.539" was immense. Once activated, even a Magus of meager ability could use it to interfere with the space of an entire city.
Of course, a Magus of meager ability could never control the power of such a powerful Grimoire. But if it went out of control, the danger it posed would be absolute.
For one thing, merely throwing the space of an entire city into chaos would be enough to cause a massive disaster. If space began to collapse as a result, it could practically be called a natural calamity. Destroying one or two cities would be no problem at all.
"I see." La Folia spoke as if she understood.
