You—You Are Invincible
That day, the Artificial Island Management Corporation announced a Level III special-zone defense posture.
Among the standard classifications used to indicate crisis conditions in the Demon Race Special Administrative Zone, this was the third-highest alert. It meant the city's functions had suffered severe disruption, putting many lives at risk.
The reason for issuing such a defense posture was simple.
Inaccurate road signs.
Malfunctioning vehicle navigation systems.
Faulty landing guidance equipment.
Countless inquiries from people who had gotten lost.
On the day before the Haronin Festival, visitors to Kageno Island and the city's residents began encountering such situations one after another, throwing the entire Kageno City into some degree of disorder.
This was already a situation that could not be ignored.
Road signs and vehicle navigation systems were directing people toward destinations completely different from where they intended to go. Even aircraft guided by automatic piloting systems were missing the island's location. People kept getting lost inside commercial facilities, and similar incidents continued to occur.
If things continued like this, Kageno Island would plunge into complete chaos and panic.
At the very least, because of the nonstop complaint calls, the communications channels were already nearly full. The artificial island network was also suffering massive disruptions, and eventually even the train schedules began to go awry. The losses incurred during this period were simply incalculable.
Under such circumstances, the only reason Kageno Island had not completely fallen into chaos was that visiting travelers were unfamiliar with the island and assumed these were merely minor problems, such as faulty navigation or incorrect signs. Although the city's residents found it strange, they were accustomed to abnormalities occurring in the Demon Race Special Administrative Zone, and thus no panic had broken out.
However, this was something that could not be concealed forever.
