The selection battles had been scheduled to begin the following week.
This was the first week of the new students' school term, yet the brutal selection battles would begin in the second week. Quite a few people would probably complain.
However, anyone who didn't want to participate could simply text the committee to forfeit their eligibility. The selection battles weren't held every day, either. Some people would fight on Monday of the following week, while others would fight on Tuesday. As Orikimori Yuri had said, there would probably only be one match every few days, so there was still plenty of time to prepare.
Ikki and Kirihara Seiya's match was scheduled for Tuesday of the following week. There was still about a week left—in other words, roughly seven days.
Normally, the selection battle committee should have begun sending texts over the weekend to notify the students who planned to participate. Yet, for some reason, Ikki had received notice of his first selection battle as early as the third day of school. This proved just how hastily and urgently the committee had made its decision, as though someone couldn't wait to finalize the match.
At the very least, Stella and Shizuku still hadn't received notices for their selection battles, while Luo Zhen had already texted to decline participation. As a result, Ikki was the only one who had received his notice ahead of time.
Perhaps Ikki and Kirihara Seiya were the first in all of Hagun Academy to receive their selection battle notices, while everyone else was still waiting. That was possible, too.
Regardless, the duel between Ikki and Kirihara Seiya had already been decided.
Even when Shizuku clamored afterward about going to argue with the chairman, it was useless.
"Since Kurogane has decided to participate in the
