"That's What Makes a Man."
"Phew... phew... phew..."
On the battlefield, Chloe, who had just displayed firepower beyond comparison, was breathing lightly, a trace of exhaustion showing in her eyes.
Although Chloe's ability to refine Compressed Mana by herself was astonishing, and the power she had displayed was equally astounding, it did not come without a price.
For example, Chloe had now nearly exhausted the mana she had consciously avoided wasting until this point.
Compressed Mana was undeniably powerful, but great power usually came with a tremendous cost.
Refining Compressed Mana inside her body placed a burden on it. Even if it did not reach the level of causing injury, it still brought fatigue.
Moreover, refining Compressed Mana consumed a massive amount of mana.
After all, it was power produced by compressing mana. How could the consumption not be enormous?
To put it another way, even when using the same spell, its power would be "ten" when cast with mana and "one hundred" when cast with Compressed Mana—but that referred to equal quantities.
In other words, the amounts of mana and Compressed Mana used had to be the same. If the amount of mana was "ten," then the amount of Compressed Mana also had to be "ten."
However, compressing "ten" units of mana might only produce "two" or "three" units of Compressed Mana. To bring the amount of Compressed Mana up to "ten," one would have to compress much more mana, consuming "thirty," "forty," or even "fifty" units to accomplish it.
Therefore, although using Compressed Mana gave attacks astonishing power, the consumption was equally immense.
Chloe now had almost no mana left.
Still, spending only Chloe's mana to take the lives of so many Demon Scarabs could only be described as worth it.
"Senior Chloe!"
