"Come to My Side."
Jamila Danberkru.
Luo Zhen had heard of the name before.
Apparently, she was the heir to her family's large-scale energy supply manufacturing company. Because of her company's immense influence, she had been recruited into the Council and become one of its main advocates for war. She had constantly proposed sending the Aerial Knights back to the continent in force, driving the Demon Scarabs out of the human world, and restoring humanity's supremacy.
Although she had retired by now, Danberkru still often appeared at the Council, where she loudly spouted off. She was infamous for being someone who only knew how to make grand speeches and could do nothing but engage in armchair strategizing, never considering the realities of the situation. Many civilians criticized her.
The Aerial Knights around Danberkru, who looked like a gang of thugs, had origins of their own as well.
"Those people are this former councilor's subordinates."
Emily whispered this into Luo Zhen's ear.
"About three months ago, that former councilor used the defense of the underground city as an excuse to pull Aerial Knights connected to her from the frontline fortress, the Floating City. She even let them learn of this place's existence without permission."
As a result, once those Aerial Knights learned of this place, they were all kept here to protect its secrecy and could no longer return to the fortress, the Floating City.
That seemed to have been Danberkru's goal. By exploiting the fact that this place could not be exposed, she had increased her own manpower, ultimately bringing about this group of thuggish Aerial Knights.
Judging by how they looked at Chris and Emily with utter disgust, as though they were staring at something filthy, these people must have shown no shortage of hostility toward the Humanoid Demon
