"Whoosh----!"
The howling gale whipped up the sand and sent it sweeping across the entire land.
At that moment, Luo Zhen and Mashu stood atop a barren hill composed of nothing but earth and stone, with no shade of green in sight, gazing into the distance.
The scene there was even more desolate.
There were no woods.
No rivers.
No people.
No flowers or grass.
All that existed there was an utterly barren land, with nothing but earth and stone filling the eye. Only scattered flames burned here and there, making it look as though magma was stirring beneath the desolate earth, ready to erupt at any moment. The sight was enough to make anyone's heart tremble.
Of course, that was not all.
What truly shocked them was that this utterly barren land was filled with enormous pits resembling craters.
Luo Zhen and Mashu gazed at the scene, one with flickering eyes and the other with a complicated expression.
As for Roman, Olga Marie, and the others in Chaldea, they had already exploded into an uproar.
"What are those craters?"
Olga Marie's face was full of shock.
"Were there really craters like that around Jerusalem in this era?"
Da Vinci knitted her brows tightly.
"How could there be?"
Roman could not help but fall speechless as well.
The scene before them had shaken everyone to some extent. Even Luo Zhen, who had long since grown accustomed to all kinds of scenery, fell into thought.
"There definitely weren't any craters like that around Jerusalem in this era." Luo Zhen spoke with certainty. "That terrain wasn't formed naturally. It was destruction caused by human factors."
Luo Zhen had voiced what everyone was thinking.
That was precisely why they had been so shaken, and why they all drew in sharp breaths.
"Human factors?"
