"Phew—phew—"
Amid the vibrating sound of beating wings, a giant dragon flew toward a corner of the desert beneath the sun, over the sands no longer obscured by the sandstorm. Its speed was not particularly fast, but it certainly could not be called slow.
Around the giant dragon, Swallow Whips converged from all directions. They flew ahead as though guiding the dragon.
Luo Zhen and Mashu knelt halfway on the dragon's back, gazing toward the desert ahead.
At one point, Mashu suddenly spotted something and hurriedly spoke up.
"Senpai! There's a group of Sphinxes ahead!"
Mashu shouted.
In fact, Luo Zhen had seen them too.
Ahead in the desert, around a hill, Sphinxes wandered slowly back and forth as though taking a leisurely stroll.
They looked as if they were guarding something.
"We've arrived." Luo Zhen said with certainty. "Beyond the dunes behind the Sphinxes, there's a ruin. The Mountain People are all inside."
That was what Luo Zhen had seen through his shikigami.
Just as Luo Zhen had said, the Sphinxes were unwilling to approach the place, yet they lingered around it. It seemed as though they could not enter, but also did not want anyone else to go in.
Thus, when the giant dragon flew over from afar and arrived before the hill, the eyes of the Sphinxes flashed. They all turned their heads and looked over, fierce, aggressive light surging in their eyes.
However, the next second, that ferocious light vanished abruptly. The Sphinxes also stopped paying attention to the giant dragon, once again strolling about on their own.
Luo Zhen saw this scene, and so did Mashu.
"As expected, the Sphinxes won't attack us anymore."
Mashu said this as she watched.
