I Don't Want to Become a Greater Sinner
"How long has it been since we sat down and had a proper meal like this?"
As soon as they began, Luo Zhen suddenly said this.
"...I can't remember."
Magnus seemed either to be recalling the past or resisting the question. Only after a while did he respond in a rather indifferent tone, looking as though he did not care about such a trivial matter at all.
However, only those who were relatively familiar with Magnus could notice that, at this moment, his posture was undoubtedly much more relaxed than it had been earlier.
This made Luo Zhen smile faintly as well, and he began chatting with Magnus.
They chatted about nothing worth mentioning. They discussed no serious business, much less anything from the past, merely talking about some aspects of their lives at the academy.
The difference was that Luo Zhen was generally the one asking questions, while Magnus only answered, as if he were trying to figure out Luo Zhen's intentions. He appeared unexpectedly hesitant.
He had no choice but to hesitate.
After all...
"I didn't expect you to chat with me like this."
Magnus said this calmly.
In his view, Luo Zhen should have been extremely hostile toward him. Like before, confronting him the moment they met—that would have been the normal reaction.
After all, Magnus was the murderer who had personally killed his blood relatives and slaughtered his own clan. By rights, Luo Zhen should not only have been hostile toward him but should have hated him as well.
That was how Luo Zhen had been in the past. Though he had not harbored hatred for Magnus as intense as Raizen's, he had still regarded Magnus as an enemy and had never shown weakness in front of him.
