At the same time, several dozen kilometers from Kannawa Lake, fierce winds roared through the sky.
They were not natural winds, but powerful gusts kicked up by a nonhuman life-form streaking past at incredible speed.
The source of those winds was a wyvern.
A wyvern raced across the sky at tremendous speed. Every beat of its wings stirred up fierce winds, creating quite an imposing spectacle.
There were two figures on the wyvern's back.
They were none other than Luo Zhen and Yukina, who had flown all the way from Kageno Island and had remained in the air until now.
Luo Zhen knelt on one knee atop the wyvern's back, his gaze sweeping over the ground below.
By now, there were essentially no signs of human habitation below them.
The entire surrounding area consisted of layer upon layer of towering mountain peaks.
Slopes thickly covered with evergreen trees stretched everywhere.
Mist drifted between the mountain peaks, looking like steam rising from a hot spring.
Mount Fuji, capped with white snow, was visible in the distance.
Scenery like this could never be found on Kageno Island, the ever-summer artificial island in the Demon Race Special Administrative Zone.
Luo Zhen had finally reached the mainland, and he was already close to his destination.

A pained voice came from Luo Zhen's arms, making him draw his gaze back.
His expression turned helpless as he lowered his head and looked into his arms.
Yukina lay there with a pale, sickly face, her entire body trembling as though she might pass out at any moment. She looked nothing like her usual self.
