Appearing Beneath the Sky
Kannawa Lake.
Floating on the rippling surface was a small altar resembling a kagura dance pavilion.
It was a simple wooden altar made by tying several small boats together.
On the altar, Anbaina stood before the altar with Yuri and Shio, while Akira Hisano stood ready beside them, holding a halberd.
Upon closer inspection, Anbaina was wearing a shrine maiden outfit. Yuri and Shio, who stood behind her, were each holding a girl in their arms.
Yuri was holding Nagisa.
Shio was holding Aurora.
At that moment, Nagisa and Aurora were both fast asleep. They were also wearing shrine maiden outfits, but their expressions were far from peaceful. They looked as though they were plagued by nightmares, or perhaps deeply emotional, with a trace of sorrow on their faces.
Before long, Anzu Masataki and Okuyama Kanon arrived on the altar with a squad of demon-slaying soldiers.
"Dark Lord, Shrine Maiden Akira."
Anzu Masataki saluted Anbaina and Akira Hisano with impeccable precision.
"Lieutenant General Anzu."
Anbaina and Akira Hisano immediately looked over.
The three of them represented different factions.
Anbaina represented the Lion King Organization.
Akira Hisano represented the local forces.
Anzu Masataki represented the Self-Defense Forces.
However, the three of them had to cooperate at this moment and resolve the Kannawa Lake sealing incident together.
Of the three, Anbaina's position was clearly the highest.
"Looks like you've made all the preparations, Lieutenant General Anzu."
Anbaina smiled unhurriedly. She looked like the youngest of the three, or even the youngest person present, yet she possessed the air of an elder. It was undeniably strange.
Anzu Masataki, however, did not feel the slightest sense of incongruity. Instead, he truly seemed to be treating her like a venerable senior. His attitude was neither servile nor overbearing, though it still
