When Io arrived here, the first person she looked at was not the prince, but the girl standing beside him who looked exactly like her.

"Ivan!"

Io immediately beamed with joy as if she had seen her beloved daughter.

However, the girl Io called Ivan did not move at all. She stood there like a statue, causing the joy on Io's face to turn into confusion.

"Prince Edmund?"

Io asked the prince in bewilderment.

"What happened to Ivan? Why does she look so strange?"

Io's confused expression made the prince—Edmund—look completely unconcerned.

"Nothing. Don't worry about it. I merely removed her restrictions a little."

Restrictions?

What did that mean?

Before Io could figure it out—or rather, before she could react—Edmund spoke cheerfully.

"Your 'daughter' is truly exceptional, Io. To be honest, I thought your research was bound to fail. I never expected it to actually succeed in the end. I only arrived a little early and happened to test Ivan's power here, but the results were beyond imagination. I'm practically ecstatic. You really are my lucky goddess, Io."

Edmund gazed obsessively at the girl named Ivan. He even reached out and stroked her face, his eyes revealing an ambition and possessiveness so intense they seemed to overflow.

Ivan, however, remained completely motionless, enduring everything Edmund did to her like an emotionless machine.

This caused the doubt in Io's heart to turn into a sense of foreboding.

"Ivan? What's wrong? You... you still..."

Unable to suppress her ominous feeling, Io was just about to step forward when General Gureitan stopped her.

"Please speak from there. Getting too close to His Highness would be disrespectful."

The general spoke in an indifferent tone.

Io froze, while Edmund waved his hand.

"That's enough, General. Considering that she brought me such a wonderful
