At the Outer Demon Gathering, Niu Dali defeated Ji Chang amid a deadly poisoning scheme, and Meng Zhao’s group set out for the Inner Demon Gathering as Zhao Hun plotted against him.

• He Liu proposed and established the Mutual Aid Alliance, while Meng Zhao declined to join but advised He Liu on developing it.
• Meng Zhao bought He Liu’s Fierce Beast Poison Pill and tortoiseshell, then refused Fu Ning’s demand to surrender the pill as Niu Dali, Su Can, and Zheng Que stood by him.
• Gu Sinan and Yun Fei discussed the alliance and Fu Ning with Meng Zhao, who encouraged cooperation with He Liu and asked about the Five Poisons Sect.
• Meng Zhao explored the Outer Demon Gathering, traded for a Nine Revolutions Blazing Sun Pill, and watched the arena fights before Niu Dali challenged Ji Chang.
• Niu Dali fought Ji Chang through a clash of martial arts and lightning, then won after Ji Chang was killed by Hundred Saliva Smoke that Fu Ning had supplied.

Meng Zhao attended the Inner Demon Gathering, defeated Fu Zeguang, and deflected an attempt to expose him as the Dragon King. After leaving Mishui Immortal Palace, he investigated the Human-Form Worm and traveled with Niu Dali to desolate Yunhua County.

• Meng Zhao learned from the Grandmasters’ discussions and named his enlightened divine skill the Emperor's Qi Gazing Technique, then the Palace Master arranged a spar between him and Fu Zeguang.
• Meng Zhao overwhelmed Fu Zeguang and defeated five more Innate Realm Warriors, while Zhao Hun secretly ordered his plan to proceed.
• Kang Youde accused Meng Zhao of being the Southern An Meng Family’s Dragon King, but Meng Zhao challenged the accusation and demonstrated his Dharma Form transformations before the hall.
• Kang Youde blamed Fu Ning for the plot, and Grandmaster Qiao killed both Fu Ning and Kang Youde before the gathering resumed.
• After the gathering, Meng Zhao reunited with Niu Dali, Su Can, and Zheng Que, then left Mishui Immortal Palace with Niu Dali and Wei Qi to investigate the Human-Form Worm.
• Niu Dali recognized the worm as a rare Human-Form Worm and suggested consulting Yuan Bin, while Wei Qi’s hidden poison killed him after Meng Zhao confronted him.
• Meng Zhao and Niu Dali entered Yunhua County, where Niu Dali explained how the failed Tai'an Reform left the county burdened by punishment and neglect.

Meng Zhao defended Yuan Bin from the Pudu Cult, defeating Gebhu Dharma King in a brutal battle and forcing the cult to retreat. Yuan Bin pledged himself to Meng Zhao’s protection, and his identification of the Fat White Worm as an Eclosion Worm opened a new lead.

• Meng Zhao and Niu Dali discovered that the Pudu Cult had gained a devoted following in Yunhua County, then traveled to White Bottle Mountain to meet Yuan Bin.
• The Pudu Cult’s Heavenly Maiden pressed Yuan Bin to join, offering help with his grudge against the Yuan Family, but Yuan Bin rejected the offer and threatened the visitors with his insect swarm.
• Meng Zhao and Niu Dali arrived at Taoyun Residence, where Meng Zhao defended Yuan Bin and challenged Gebhu Dharma King after the cult tried to force Yuan Bin’s cooperation.
• Meng Zhao fought Gebhu Dharma King across the mountain, replenished his energy during the battle, and answered Heavenly Blood Rain with Purple Pole Returning Origin.
• Meng Zhao shattered Gebhu Dharma King’s golden body and severed an arm, but the Heavenly Maiden and a great monk carried the wounded Dharma King away.
• Yuan Bin considered fleeing or joining the Pudu Cult, but Niu Dali persuaded him to seek Meng Zhao’s protection, and Yuan Bin pledged his life and strength to Meng Zhao.
• Meng Zhao agreed to take Yuan Bin to Lingwu City and help destroy the Pudu Cult if they found conclusive evidence, then showed Yuan Bin the Fat White Worm, which Yuan Bin identified as an Eclosion Worm.

Meng Zhao used the Eclosion Worm to recover from his injuries and gain a blood-draining power just as the Pudu Cult arrived to kill him. After refusing the Cult’s offer and defeating Lin You, he faced the Red Lotus Monk and Black Robe Dharma King, whose attacks he turned back while his Heaven Swallowing Sun Devouring Great Law grew stronger.

• Yuan Bin identified the Fat White Worm as an Eclosion Worm and prepared a Worm Pill, which Meng Zhao swallowed before being enclosed in a cocoon.
• The cocoon transformed Meng Zhao into a purple true dragon before he returned to human form with his blood qi and damaged foundation restored.
• Meng Zhao tested his new silkworm thread and showed that it could drain essence blood and condense it into a destructive blood dragon.
• Meng Zhao sensed the Pudu Cult approaching White Bottle Mountain and prepared to face its stronger force with Niu Dali and Yuan Bin.
• The Pudu Cult’s Red Lotus Monk offered Meng Zhao the position of Holy Son and future Cult Master, but Meng Zhao refused and Lin You challenged him.
• Meng Zhao defeated Lin You, whose sudden advance in swordsmanship could not overcome Meng Zhao’s hidden draining techniques, and the Red Lotus Monk and Black Robe Dharma King joined the fight.
