Zhou Changqing looked at the contents of the cup, his nostrils twitching as he caught a strong smell of blood.
Was it really good for an old man to drink tea like this?
That was his first thought.
"Water, give, me, water."
The withered old man hurriedly reached out with his sharp-nailed hand, trying to grab the cup.
Zhou Changqing could only set the cup on the table and watch as the old man lifted it and gulped down the blood inside. A few drops trickled from the corners of his mouth with every bob of his throat, making him look like a zombie that had just finished drinking blood.
Seeing this, Zhou Changqing figured it was about time for him to go downstairs and get something to eat. He took a step back, preparing to leave.
"Old man, if you're all right, I'll be going now."
As he spoke, the old man suddenly grabbed Zhou Changqing by the wrist.
The sharp nails pierced Zhou Changqing's skin, making him frown.
"I still want more water, more, more."
A whimper came from the old man's throat. When he opened his mouth, several sharp, canine-like teeth emerged from what had seemed to be a toothless mouth.
"I want it."
He lunged at Zhou Changqing.
Zhou Changqing had no time to dodge and instinctively threw a punch.
Splat—
The old man's face slammed into Zhou Changqing's fist. Like an overripe persimmon struck by an iron hammer, it exploded on the spot.
Dark-red flesh splattered across the wall, and the old man's body abruptly lost all strength and slumped down.
"Did I kill someone?"
Zhou Changqing panicked. He hurriedly stood up and reached for his phone to call an ambulance, but when he pulled it out, the old man had vanished.
