[Lin Qi has been taken over.]
[Lin Qi lv11]
Waking up early, Ryan opened the game and took a look, discovering that 'Lin Qi' had already appeared in the church to begin her daily chores.
Her level had only increased by one, but there weren't really any monsters to grind around the church, so being able to level up while ensuring the character kept working was already quite good... come to think of it, does 'Lin Qi' need to sleep?
After a quick wash, Ryan opened the door, retrieved the newspaper hanging from the handle, and began reading while enjoying his breakfast.
On the front page, there was a prominent report regarding the murder of the Central District sheriff, with the news agency excitedly announcing that the culprit had been brought to justice, and that the one who caught the killer was none other than the elite sheriff of the East District, Mr. Ryan Bask.
The page even featured a photo of Ryan; interestingly, he had no idea when this picture had been taken.
"Hm?"
Turning to another page of the newspaper, he discovered an extra note stuck onto it.
Ryan focused his gaze.
[Starting today, I am your direct superior.]
A sentence without a beginning or an end.
But he understood it quickly.
Derek had been killed, and Adler already knew and had begun to act.
There was no signature on the note, but it was stuck onto a news report about Adler; even if an ordinary person saw it, they wouldn't make the connection, but Ryan was Adler's lackey, so he certainly could.
"Things are going quite smoothly."
Ryan rubbed his chin.
The Burning Covenant had indeed elevated his status.
Now he needed to think about how to take down Adler.
After finishing breakfast, Ryan arrived at the East District Bureau of Governance, walked through the office area, and greeted his colleagues along the way.
"You're here."
Outside the bureau chief's office, Jonathan was walking over with a kettle; he pushed the door open and beckoned to Ryan.
"Come in with me, I have something important to tell you."
