Knight Fred, who had been locked in a fierce battle with the Knight Armor, finally let out a breath.

He was a dignified Formal Knight, yet he had actually been unable to subdue a pile of dead objects like this.

It was simply unimaginable.

"That was an Evil Spirit attack!"

"That's right, it had to be an Evil Spirit! It possessed the armor and attacked us. Who would've thought Knight Fred would beat it back? Knight Fred is too strong!"

"My God, have Evil Spirits finally appeared in our Blackwater Valley too?"

"Merciful Heavenly Father above, destroy these hateful Evil Spirits."

Each soldier simply assumed an Evil Spirit had possessed the armor, causing it to attack everyone.

Knight Fred stayed silent. Though he had never seen an Evil Spirit before, he felt in his heart that the sort of Evil Spirit capable of easily killing the Rock Bear Knight and the Frost Wolf Knight should not have been this weak.

But for the moment, he could not think of any better explanation.

Only Levi stared at the pile of armor, the excitement in his heart beyond words.

"Wizards. I searched high and low and found nothing, only to have it come without effort. Who would've thought there would be clues to wizards right here in the mountain behind my territory? Now, I can be one hundred percent certain that wizards exist in this world. At the very least... they once appeared."

All this time, Levi had searched in many places for clues about wizards to no avail, and for a while, he had suspected whether wizards were only a legend after all.

But now, looking at the writing on this ring, he finally confirmed it.

"What a pity. She didn't leave behind any way to contact her or anything. And this is a ring from eight hundred years ago. Who knows whether this Witch Gulveig is dead."

"Speaking of which, whether it's [Lady Rowling] recorded in Grimm's Travels or this [Gulveig], both are witches."

"The Leg Eater gained the speed of God; the Rib Eater gained the endurance of God; the Blood Eater gained the spirit of God; the Heart Eater gained the mind of God; the Arm Eater gained the strength of God; the Bone Eater gained the defense of God; the Brain Eater gained the wisdom of God!"

"These seven followers were called the Seven Heavenly Knights. The seven knights respectively inherited the speed, endurance, spirit, mind, strength, defense, and wisdom of God. Therefore, the Black Qi born in knights should, in essence, belong to the divine power of the Saint's Remains, and should be called [Holy Remnant Power]."

"God loves the people of the world more than himself, and the people of the world should also love God as they love their parents. God nourished knights with the blood and flesh of the Saint; knights should naturally set an example, be loyal to God, carry out God's will, and spread the radiance of the Heavenly Father."

This was the Genesis Codex's introduction to the origin of knights, and it was also the reason the official term for "Black Qi" was "Holy Remnant Power."

It was impossible to know how much of it was true, but in a miscellaneous note written by a folk religious scholar, the story of the origin of knights from the "Genesis Codex" also mentioned an interesting myth that the "Genesis Codex" had not recorded.

"Among the Seven Heavenly Knights mentioned in the 'Genesis Codex,' the knight who obtained the wisdom of God possessed tremendous ambition. In the later mortal world, when the Heavenly Father and the angels resided high in the Astral Realm and Saints had vanished, this knight and his descendants used wisdom far beyond that of ordinary mortals, attempting to steal the authority of the gods of the Astral Realm with mortal bodies and obtain the most fundamental thing that made a god a god: a Divine Spark! In short, this knight, who should have been carrying out God's ideals in the mortal world, sought to ignite divine fire, condense a Divine Spark, and make himself a god! This undoubtedly incurred the wrath of the celestial gods!"

"After many years, the angels of the Astral Realm descended to the mortal world, intending to suppress this group with supreme divine power. In the end, however, they discovered that during the years when the gods were absent, this group had used the wisdom of God to research spell after spell capable of destroying heaven and earth. "That group of people were the ones later known in legend as... wizards. And that first-generation knight who inherited the wisdom of God was the Ancestor of Wizards: Sauron."

"This is a legend I heard from a retired old priest. I always feel that wizards still exist in our world; we simply have not discovered them."

Because Levi had collected quite a few legends and books about wizards some time ago, whether they were travelogues or unofficial histories, he had read them all. True and false mixed together, but when placed side by side, one could always make out something.

At first, Levi had only thought these were all myths.

But when combined with the history of the Mellon Family, and this Witch Gulveig behind the Frost Giant Demon Armor, all of this might not merely be myth.

"Perhaps this world truly has... gods." Levi thought of a terrifying fact.

"And gods and the Church are definitely hostile toward a group with such enormous potential as wizards. Perhaps this is also why wizards so rarely show themselves on this continent."

"Then should I keep pursuing the path of wizards?" Levi asked himself.

In the end, he sighed inwardly. For the time being, he could not answer that question himself. Time would tell him the answer.

Finally, after confirming there was nothing else of value here, Levi had the soldiers pack the armor into a box. Right now, he still did not understand the connection between the armor and the ring, nor did he know how to use it. He could only go back and study it slowly. He also had people seal the cave.

Inside the cave, only that tall skeleton remained, silently witnessing the changes of eight hundred years and the turning of history. Only the colossus that was the Holy Radiance Church still stood behind it, never having fallen.

"No one is allowed to leak anything about encountering an Evil Spirit today. That would only bring unnecessary panic to everyone. Anyone who disobeys will be killed without mercy!" Levi threatened.

After roughly learning the Church's attitude toward wizards, he felt that in the future, when he searched for clues about wizards, he would have to be even more careful and cautious.

Even a mighty force like the Giant Family had been destroyed by the Radiant Knight Order. For the Church to destroy him would be easier still.
