Silence.
The hall was utterly quiet.
Everyone stared dumbfoundedly at the scene before them, mouths agape and unable to speak.
What was going on?
They had not even started fighting, yet this fellow had already conceded?
In the hall, only Silver Moon Viscount's eyes suddenly lit up, as though he had thought of something. A flash of delight crossed his face.
"What did you do to him?"
A man who appeared to be the burly man's friend suddenly rushed forward, yanked the burly man to his feet, and glared furiously at Sunan.
Sunan said blandly, "Just a little trick. What, do you want to try it too?"
Meeting Sunan's indifferent gaze, the man froze. The words reached his lips, yet he could not force them out.
At that moment, the burly man also came to his senses.
Recalling what he had just done, his face instantly flushed the color of liver. With an angry roar, he pulled the Battle Axe from his back and charged at Sunan.
The crowd was immediately startled.
The two knights standing guard beside Silver Moon Viscount instinctively moved to stop him, but in the next second, Sunan waved his hand. A blinding bolt of lightning appeared out of thin air, pierced through the air, and struck the burly man.
Crackle!
In the blink of an eye, the man collapsed to the floor, charred black from head to toe. Whether he was dead or alive was unknown.
The hall fell silent once more.
Everyone stared blankly at the burly man on the floor, unable to recover their senses for a long while.
An Advanced Knight had been defeated so cleanly and decisively?
What kind of method had that bolt of lightning been?!
Clap clap clap!
Sudden applause rang out, jolting everyone awake.
When they turned to look, they saw Silver Moon Viscount standing and applauding, watching Sunan with a broad smile.
"What fine methods, sir. As you said, as long as you can get rid of that evil spirit, the entire bounty will be yours!"
As soon as those words were spoken, the expressions of the knights darkened considerably.
Yet no one voiced an objection.
Not only had Silver Moon Viscount already made his decision, leaving them no standing to oppose it, but Sunan's displayed strength alone had extinguished any thought of confronting him.
Some of the more knowledgeable knights had already vaguely realized Sunan's identity.
Knowing full well that they had no chance, they turned and left without another word.
Before long, aside from Sunan, every knight who had come to answer the recruitment had departed.
Silver Moon Viscount did not mind in the least. Fixing his bright gaze on Sunan, he asked, "How should I address you, sir?"
"Angus MacLean."
"If I am not mistaken, Lord Anger is a wizard?"
"That's right."
"Excellent."
Though he had already suspected as much, Silver Moon Viscount still appeared immensely excited upon hearing Sunan admit it personally.
"With your help, sir, that evil spirit will surely be dealt with!"
"The evil spirit is not a problem," Sunan said calmly. "But before I deal with it, I have other conditions."
"Please, speak."
"As for the one thousand Gold Coin bounty, I want it paid in advance and exchanged for items of equivalent value that I specify."
Silver Moon Viscount hesitated for only a moment before readily agreeing.
"No problem. What would you like it exchanged for?"
Sunan handed over a list containing the materials for making Lesser Activity Potions, as well as a set of potion-making tools.
The Synthesis Cube had limited space. He had not brought his crafting tools with him on this trip, so he could only buy another set.
Silver Moon Viscount glanced over the list. Seeing that nothing on it was particularly rare, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "I will have someone procure everything as soon as possible. You may rest in my residence first, sir."
Sunan did not refuse and agreed.
Silver Moon Viscount then summoned the Butler, instructing him to take Sunan to the prepared room and serve him with utmost care.
After Sunan left the hall, one of the knights at the side finally could not help saying, "My lord, do you trust him just like that? What if he takes the goods and runs?"
The speaker was one of the only two remaining Grand Knights under Silver Moon Viscount's command.
Seeing him raise a doubt, Silver Moon Viscount did not get angry. Instead, he asked with a smile, "Ubano, if you fought him, what chance would you have of winning?"
Ubano hesitated before answering honestly, "Less than fifty percent. That man's methods are far too strange. I cannot see through him."
He could also kill an Advanced Knight in seconds, but he absolutely could not do so as effortlessly as Sunan had.
Moreover, Sunan had clearly not used his full strength.
The sight of the burly man being controlled like a puppet, kneeling on the ground and barking like a dog, was still vivid in his mind. Such methods were simply unfathomable!
Silver Moon Viscount shook his head with a chuckle, patted Ubano on the shoulder, and said meaningfully, "You would undoubtedly lose."
Seeing that Ubano was somewhat unconvinced, he merely smiled and said nothing more before turning and entering the side door beside the hall.
Those who did not understand wizards had no idea just how strange and terrifying the power of that group was.
It was power beyond the understanding of ordinary people, power that belonged to another world!
Silver Moon Viscount was remarkably efficient.
The next day, a large quantity of Silver Moon Flowers was delivered to Sunan.
After instructing the Butler not to let anyone disturb him, Sunan began making potions.
Materials worth nearly one thousand Gold Coin ultimately yielded one hundred and two bottles of Lesser Activity Potion.
Sunan then began synthesizing them.
Just as he had estimated, when he placed twenty-two bottles of Lesser Activity Potion inside, the Activity Potion displayed on the synthesis interface had already become first-tier high-grade.
Both its effect and duration had increased.
However, the Spirit Power requirement had also risen to 8 points.
Sunan did not stop and continued placing potions into the Magic Cube.
When the number reached fifty-eight bottles, the synthesis interface suddenly changed.
Super Energy Potion (Second Tier/Low Grade): After consumption, greatly increases mental activity, enhances the absorption efficiency of Energy Particles, and extends meditation time. Duration: 48 days and 4 hours. No effect when stacked. The consumer's Spirit Power must be at least 13.
"Not bad!"
Sunan was delighted.
This potion was far more effective than an Activity Potion!
In particular, its effect of enhancing Energy Particle absorption efficiency could produce a result greater than the sum of its parts when combined with God Blood Amber.
Its duration had also been extended by nearly half.
"I wonder what the medium-grade and high-grade versions are like?"
Sunan continued adding potions.
When the number of potions rose to eighty-five, the Super Energy Potion became second-tier medium-grade.
The description showed no obvious changes. Only the duration increased to fifty-four days, while the Spirit Power requirement became 15 or above.
When the number of potions reached one hundred and five—Sunan had added in the potions he had left over from before as well—the Super Energy Potion finally became second-tier high-grade.
Super Energy Potion (Second Tier/High Grade): After consumption, greatly increases mental activity, greatly enhances the absorption efficiency of Energy Particles, and extends meditation time. Duration: 62 days and 10 hours. No effect when stacked. The consumer's Spirit Power must be at least 18.
"A consumption requirement of 18."
Sunan shook his head regretfully.
His current Spirit Power had not even reached 16. Even if he synthesized a second-tier high-grade Super Energy Potion, he would not be able to consume it.
But he soon perked up again.
Being able to synthesize a second-tier medium-grade Super Energy Potion was already quite good.
For now, it was sufficient.
Once his Spirit Power broke through 18, it would not be too late to synthesize second-tier high-grade Super Energy Potions.
"One second-tier medium-grade Super Energy Potion costs roughly eight hundred and fifty Gold Coin to make, and its effects last less than two months. That comes to around five or six thousand Gold Coin a year."
Sunan could not help but sigh.
He was only a Level Two Wizard Apprentice, yet the expenses were already this immense. He truly did not know how many Gold Coin he would have to spend each year after advancing to become a wizard.
