Ignoring Sunan's teasing words, Owen instinctively took a step back and cried out in terror, "guards! Quickly, guards! There's an assassin!"

The shrill, pitch-altered voice made Geller frown. A trace of contempt flashed through his gaze as he looked at Owen.

The enemy had already barged inside. Anyone with half a brain could tell the guards had certainly been slaughtered, yet this idiot was still screaming blindly. What a disgrace.

Geller ignored the fool and turned to Sunan, letting out an amused chuckle.

"Sunan Arnester, I've heard of you—the legendary wizard."

"The Marquis praised you as a promising young man. How about it? Would you consider serving the Marquis?"

"As long as you earn enough merit, let alone a mere barony, even a viscountcy can be granted to you by the Marquis!"

"Who are you?" Sunan glanced at Geller.

"Geller Konos, envoy of the Golden Rock Marquis."

Geller raised his chin slightly, his tone carrying a hint of arrogance.

"So you're just a dog of the Golden Rock Marquis." Sunan shook his head.

Geller's smile froze, and his expression swiftly darkened. "Young man, don't think too highly of yourself. Don't assume becoming a wizard means you can look down on everyone. There are plenty of people in this world stronger than you."

Sunan gave a derisive smile. "So?"

Seeing that Sunan had not taken him seriously from beginning to end, Geller was finally thoroughly enraged. His face turned icy.

"Looks like you're just a fool who can't see the situation clearly. I overestimated you. Someone like you isn't worthy of serving the Marquis."
