Ch. 243Berserk

Arro fought Edmund in the dark, using the Blazing Greatsword to overcome the Blood Bat’s defenses and weaken his semi-ethereal form. White Deer warned Arro that Abyss Power was distorting his emotions, leaving him to recognize that he had begun enjoying the torture.

  • Arro disrupted Edmund’s bat transformations with Solar Fist and struck him with the flame-wreathed Blazing Greatsword.
  • Edmund unleashed Blood Crystal Thorns, but Arro shattered them and counterattacked with his sword techniques.
  • Arro repeatedly attacked Edmund, burning away his blood and weakening the Shadow Element and Undead System energies sustaining him.
  • White Deer called to Arro from among the elks and warned him that Abyss Power was affecting his mind.
  • Arro reconsidered his behavior and realized he had started enjoying torturing Edmund instead of killing him swiftly.

Ch. 244Battle and Hunting

Arrow reflected on his weariness of battle as White Deer urged him to rest, then questioned Edmund about the reward on his Wanted Poster and learned there was no poster for him in the area. The chapter left Arrow asking where Mannheim Market was so he could visit it someday.

  • White Deer told Arrow that he longed for stability and needed to stop killing and rest.
  • Arrow recognized that he needed to recover from the abyssal aura but still had unfinished business.
  • Edmund returned to human form after Arrow drained his blood and begged Arrow Garner to spare his life.
  • Edmund explained that he recognized Arrow from a Record Stone at Mannheim Market and said there was no Wanted Poster for him locally.
  • Arrow asked Edmund where Mannheim Market was.

Ch. 245Resolution

Arro killed Edmund, the Blood Bat, after deciding he was too dangerous to release or imprison. White Deer warned Arro that Abyss Power was affecting his emotions, and Arro insisted he had killed Edmund after careful consideration.

  • Edmund began giving Arro directions to Mannheim Market, unaware of Arro’s predicament.
  • Arro unleashed Phoenix World Annihilation and killed Edmund, gaining experience and skill points.
  • Arro told White Deer he could not spare Edmund because the Blood Bat was too dangerous to release or imprison.
  • Arro found White Deer exhausted from blood loss and dimmed his Light Sphere after it hurt her eyes.
  • White Deer warned that Abyss Power could worsen Arro’s temper, and Arro said he had rationally chosen to kill Edmund.

Ch. 246A Song from Memory

Arrow recognized that Abyss Power had been feeding his Killing Intent and tried to regain his calm before returning to the Castle. The next morning, while repairing his armor, he hummed a half-remembered song and asked Holly to help reconstruct it from the story he could barely recall.

  • White Deer warned Arrow that Killing Intent still lingered in his heart, and Arrow calmed himself and thanked her for noticing.
  • Arrow invited White Deer to rest at the Castle, but she chose to stay by the river and urged him to rest and cultivate his calm.
  • Butler Enoch caught a crow by the river and ordered his guard to return with him.
  • The next morning, Arrow repaired his armor in the laboratory while humming a song he remembered from a story.
  • Holly asked about the song and offered to help complete it, and Arrow recalled only that the story involved a resolute girl and one fragment.

Ch. 247Copper Pendant

Arrow explained the scene of a girl wielding an electric railgun to Holly, then made her a copper pendant engraved with his sketch. Holly eagerly continued working the bellows as Arrow gave her the gift.

  • Holly admitted she could not picture the bridge, iron coins, or Electric Flowers in Arrow’s description, so he drew and explained them.
  • Arrow described how electric current could launch iron coins, and Holly listened closely to his explanation of the Railgun.
  • Arrow sketched the resolute girl standing on the Giant Stone Bridge and showed the drawing to Holly.
  • Holly asked to preserve the sketch, and Arrow offered to make her a pendant engraved with it.
  • Holly powered the bellows while Arrow softened a Copper Ingot and made the Copper Pendant, which he gave her.

Ch. 248Those Skilled at War Win No Glorious Renown

Arro told Holly to create a new song from the fragments he remembered, then summoned Bevan to discuss measuring his shadow-energy training. He prepared to spend the next few days recovering and repairing his equipment before traveling to the market, while considering the risk that Edmund’s directions could lead to a trap.

  • Holly listened to Arro recount the song’s story and agreed to try making a new song from it.
  • Arro told Holly to check the saltwater extraction and summon Bevan before suspending her lessons for a while.
  • Arro questioned Bevan about his shadow-energy training and told him to learn the Statistical Method and record data instead of relying on guesses.
  • Arro told Bevan to study the Inductive Method, consult Holly, and avoid disturbing him unless there was an emergency.
  • Arro planned to recover from using the Magic Strike Technique, repair his heavy armor and Blazing Greatsword, and prepare for the market trip in case Edmund had led him into a trap.

Ch. 249Organizing Combat Techniques

Arro reviewed his combat techniques and recognized that his expensive, high-powered moves were poorly suited to his recent opponents and dwindling resources. He began redesigning his fighting style around efficient Power Core attacks, but struggled to fit the sword’s pommel vent into a smooth chain of strikes.

  • Arro recalled how he had built his Magic Strike Technique and Blazing Sword Technique to fight Formal Wizards while relying little on his own magic power.
  • Arro saw that his Fire Melting Stones were nearly spent and admitted that his Magic Stones were gone.
  • Arro concluded that his combat style needed adjustment because his strongest moves wasted resources and his recent chained attacks canceled out power.
  • Arro decided to reserve Charged Fire Blazing as a killing move and use the Power Core more often for ordinary attacks and greater endurance.
  • Arro studied how to chain attacks through the Blazing Greatsword’s three air vents, but found that force from the pommel vent made strikes awkward and difficult to connect.

Ch. 250Arc Moon Triple Slash

Arro refined a three-strike greatsword combination that used the Power Core and Body Flickering Technique, then named it Arc Moon Triple Slash. He left the moves written on his draft paper and the technique ready to be tested in combat.

  • Arro planned a pommel-powered upswing as the third strike, using it for an upward control effect or to burn and obscure a distant enemy.
  • Arro designed a downward chop as the second strike and an advancing, rotating upswing as the first, adapting his force application and reserving strength for follow-up moves.
  • Arro planned to combine the three broad strikes with Body Flickering Technique, using a second consecutive Trip Spell to brake and rotate into the second strike before finishing with the third.
  • Arro rejected several possible names and called the combination Arc Moon Triple Slash, then wrote the name on his draft paper.

Ch. 251Arc Moon Sword Technique

Arro completed the Arc Moon Sword Technique, a sequence of eight greatsword swings built around Arc Moon Triple Slash. Meanwhile, Countess Ilinda faced political pressure over the demon hunters, and Arro’s companions enjoyed dumplings.

  • Arro designed the eight-move Arc Moon Sword Technique and declined the prompt to learn it.
  • Scarlow City’s nobles argued over whether Countess Ilinda should hand the demon hunters to the Saint Fernando Empire or dismantle the academy.
  • Baron Claire told Countess Ilinda what had happened, and she warned him that the wandering wizard was not strong enough to protect his son.
  • Holly and Bevan ate Arro’s dumplings, and Bevan was surprised by how delicious they were.

Ch. 252Delicacies and Departure

Arrow recovered from the emotional effects of Abyss Power by resting and eating, then set out in a Deer Carriage to buy a Purification Potion and other supplies. He left Holly and Bevan at the castle with instructions in case he failed to return.

  • Arrow ate spicy dumplings made with rare ginger and recovered from the meal's heat by drinking ice water.
  • Arrow told Holly he had rested enough and was leaving to buy supplies, but Holly asked to go with him.
  • Arrow explained that he planned to avoid Viscount Corey's notice during the snowfall and left Holly behind, trusting Bevan to look after her.
  • Arrow instructed Bevan to complete a chart of energy absorption changes and to contact his father if Arrow had not returned within five days.
  • Arrow drove away from the castle in the inconspicuous Deer Carriage, pulled by two elk.

Ch. 253My Name Is Arrow Garner

Arrow Garner traveled by Deer Carriage through Viscount Corey’s territory toward the Primeval Forest, encountering no resistance at the watchtowers. A pack of Giant Wolves pursued him, and just as Arrow prepared to fight, someone cried out that Arrow Garner had come to save him.

  • Two Stags pulled Arrow’s carriage past a watchtower, where the old Captain warned his soldier not to interfere with a traveler who might be dangerous.
  • Arrow wondered why the watchtower guards had let him pass and urged the elk to hurry toward the Primeval Forest marked by Edmund.
  • More than ten snow-white Giant Wolves gathered behind the carriage and began closing in on the elk.
  • Arrow stopped the carriage, drew his sword, and prepared to test his revised Sword Move against the wolves.
  • A voice from the air shouted, “I, Arrow Garner, have come to save you,” leaving Arrow startled.

Ch. 254Mannheim Market

Arrow reached Mannheim Market with Ian Boone, a chuunibyou youth who admired the legendary Arrow Garner and mistook Arrow for a fan. After arranging private stable space, Arrow and Ian entered the market, where Arrow planned to sell his goods and buy Purification Potions.

  • Ian Boone drove off the Giant Wolves with Starfall Annihilation and excitedly asked Arrow whether he had seen a Record Stone.
  • Arrow agreed to travel to Mannheim Market with Ian, who chattered about Arrow Garner and repeatedly insisted Arrow call him Garner.
  • Ian warned Arrow about dangers around the market, quoted lines about Arrow, and guided the carriage through the snow while Arrow pretended to sleep.
  • At the market entrance, Ian dismissed a man demanding a Magic Stone, and Arrow explained how market fees could drive customers away.
  • Arrow paid five Gold Coins for a private stall for the two elk and entered Mannheim Market with Ian.
  • Arrow told Ian he had things to sell, and Ian directed him to meet at the Alchemy Shop after finishing.

Ch. 255Price

Arro sold the Shadow Wolf’s pelt and damaged pendant, then bought enchanting materials and Purification Potions in the marketplace. He discovered that Academy shops charged far more for basic materials, while potion ingredients outside the Academy were cheap enough to make him question the price of finished potions.

  • Arro sold the Shadow Wolf’s pelt for forty-five Magic Stones and its damaged pendant for eighty Magic Stones at the cat-eared woman’s Enchanting Shop.
  • Arro bought basic enchanting materials for sixteen Magic Stones and realized the Academy had charged him far more for similar supplies.
  • Arro visited the Potion Shops and bought five Purification Potions for six Magic Stones each to address his Abyss Corrosion.
  • Arro asked the Aged Elder about the cost of Purification Potion ingredients and was astonished to find that making one potion cost less than one Magic Stone.

Ch. 256Challenge to a Duel

Arrow discovered that brewing Purification Potions could be far cheaper than buying them, so he bought equipment and ingredients to learn Potionology. As suspicious Passersby watched him in the market, he openly challenged them to wait at the Mount Stop, intending to settle their threats after he finished shopping.

  • Arrow compared the cost of Potionology materials with finished Purification Potions and bought tools and twenty sets of ingredients from the Aged Elder.
  • The Aged Elder offered to buy any potions Arrow successfully brewed, while Arrow insisted the purchases were nonrefundable and left with an overloaded bundle.
  • Arrow noticed suspicious Passersby repeatedly circling him and asked a patrol of Wizard Apprentices whether fighting was allowed in the market.
  • Arrow told the watchers to wait for him at the Mount Stop and said he would finish shopping before leaving with them.
  • When a hoarse voice questioned whether Arrow might sneak away, the patrol raised its wands, but Arrow calmed them and announced he was going to the Alchemy Shop.

Ch. 257Record Stone

Arro saw a Record Stone replaying his battle, followed by an advertisement selling armor in his likeness, and entered the Alchemy Shop. The owner appeared to recognize him, but Arro steadied himself by thinking about rebuilding his Lead-Iron Heavy Armor and confronting his pursuers if necessary.

  • Arro watched a Record Stone project a replay of him fighting armored soldiers, then saw a shopkeeper interrupt the footage with an advertisement for armor modeled after his.
  • The crowd booed the advertisement, while a potion seller used the commotion to sell Hair Dye Potion to people who mistook Ian for Arro.
  • Arro went into the Alchemy Shop, where Ian explained that they had agreed to swap the names Arro and Garner when dressed alike.
  • Arro noticed the shop owner’s alarmed reaction and realized the owner might have recognized him from details of his build.
  • Arro resolved to gather materials for the Lead-Iron Heavy Armor and fight his pursuers if he had to.

Ch. 258Holding Accountable

Arro confronted Shopkeeper Harvey, who had copied and sold armor using Arro’s name, and used their supposed alchemy apprenticeship to conceal their connection. Arro left Harvey understanding that he could not simply walk away, while preparing to make use of Harvey’s workshop and resources.

  • Arro claimed Shopkeeper Harvey was his junior apprentice brother, and Harvey nervously played along.
  • Ian persuaded Harvey to sell him two Sub-grade Record Stones, which Ian tucked away.
  • Arro examined Harvey’s imitation Record Stones in the Alchemy Room as Harvey begged him for mercy.
  • Arro told Harvey that copying his armor and recognizing him meant Harvey could not remain uninvolved in Arro’s affairs.

Ch. 259Imitation

Arrow discovered that Shopkeeper Harvey had secretly copied the design of his Lead-Iron Heavy Armor and was developing three related sets. After Harvey showed how he had identified Merman Glue in Arrow’s armor, Arrow spared him and learned that Harvey had spotted the clue in a recording.

  • Shopkeeper Harvey explained that the Vashi Mountains Corridor was a buffer zone between Jungle Home and Sage Hall and urged Arrow to reveal his identity.
  • Arrow asked Harvey to show him Golden Armor, then noticed three unfinished sets of heavy armor in the compartment.
  • Arrow found that the silver and black sets copied the structure of his Lead-Iron Heavy Armor, while the gold set included gold and patterns resembling Star River Surge.
  • Harvey admitted he had studied the armor out of curiosity, and Arrow let him explain how he had discovered the Merman Glue inside it.
  • Harvey played a recording showing dark spots bursting from Arrow’s armor, then explained that he recognized the glue by its properties and its reaction to fire.

Ch. 260Magic Phoenix Golden Armor

Arrow took Shopkeeper Harvey’s golden armor and modified it into Magic Phoenix Golden Armor, giving himself a powerful defensive tool. After completing it, he prepared to leave the market and return to his own territory before Viscount Corey could threaten him.

  • Arrow chose Harvey’s golden armor, rejected the other two sets, and ordered materials for its modification.
  • Harvey supplied the materials and left the Alchemy Room, then greeted Ian and claimed Arrow was his Senior Brother.
  • Arrow removed the Merman Glue and unwanted enchantments, then fashioned the glue into a honeycomb-shaped Buffer Structure.
  • Arrow embedded Silver Essence into the armor while staying alert in Harvey’s workshop and thinking about the danger from Viscount Corey.
  • Arrow activated the Magic Strike Technique, causing Abyss Runes to form a Black Phoenix across the armor and complete the Magic Phoenix Golden Armor.

Ch. 261Crescent Moon Appears

Arro purified the Abyss Power from his body, suppressed the living Magic Phoenix Battle Armor’s violent consciousness, and prepared to return home. Instead, he realized that pursuers had followed him from Mannheim Market and chose an open clearing by a forest lake for the coming fight.

  • The Magic Phoenix Battle Armor awakened, urged Arro to wear it and spill blood, but Arro poured a Purification Potion over its phoenix pattern to erase its consciousness.
  • Arro drank three Purification Potions to expel the Abyss Power from his body, then burned the expelled black-and-red threads with the Melting Spell.
  • Arro cleaned the Alchemy Room, put on the golden armor, restored the Blazing Greatsword with fifteen High-Quality Fire Melting Stones, and planned to buy more potions before returning home.
  • Ian gave Arro the grayish-white Honeycomb Shape stone and offered to help him leave through a secret passage, but Arro continued toward the stables alone.
  • Arro sensed pursuers, chose an open area beside a forest lake as his battlefield, and stopped the Deer Carriage as dark figures emerged from the woods.

Ch. 262Moon Dance (Part 1)

Arro confronted the enemies pursuing his carriage, broke through their ambush, and fought a Snowstorm Giant Wolf and a horde of Bone Warriors. After activating the Magic Strike Technique, he charged into the skeletons and continued cutting them down, with the battle still underway.

  • Arro realized his pursuers had used decoys to slow him and attacked one of them with Crescent Moon Triple Slash.
  • The enemies revealed themselves from the forest, and a Snowstorm Giant Wolf charged Arro as they cast spells and raised Bone Warriors.
  • Arro dodged the wolf’s ice attacks, severed its leg with Moonlight Dance, Lower Crescent Moon, and discovered its body was weaker than its ice-crystal jaws.
  • Arro activated Magic Strike Technique—Phoenix Spreading Wings, causing the Snowstorm Giant Wolf to halt in fear.
  • Arro evaded a Freeze Ray and charged into the Bone Warriors, destroying them with a series of Crescent Moon Sword Technique strikes.
