Xiao Jin and Xiao Yi Xian looked down at the group of mercenaries below, listening to their lewd laughter. Xiao Jin's face was filled with killing intent. Xiao Yi Xian was his woman now—how could he allow these men to keep living? Meanwhile, Xiao Yi Xian in his arms wore a blank expression, her eyes somewhat vacant, as though she had yet to recover from what had happened last night.

Xiao Jin descended with Xiao Yi Xian and landed on the ground. He took out the Earth Demon Kui to protect her, then strode directly toward the mercenaries.

"A Dou Wang!" one mercenary cried out in horror. "How is that possible? Old Zhang, that kid looks sixteen or seventeen at most. They had been killed for no apparent reason. Even Old Zhang's corpse lying on the ground wore an expression of confusion.

Xiao Jin stepped in front of Xiao Yi Xian as Dou Qi began gathering in his hand. Though he knew this Blue Eagle had likely been summoned by Xiao Yi Xian, a magical beast was still a magical beast. There was always the possibility of it turning on its master. Xiao Yi Xian was in no condition to fight right now. If that happened, she likely would not be able to resist.

Looking at Xiao Jin standing protectively before her, Xiao Yi Xian felt warmth fill her heart. Being protected behind someone felt so good. She stepped out from behind Xiao Jin and slowly pressed down his hand. "Don't worry. I raised Little Blue from childhood. She won't hurt me." Seeing how certain Xiao Yi Xian was, Xiao Jin withdrew the Dou Qi in his hand.

The giant eagle landed before Xiao Yi Xian, its eyes filled with fear as it dared not approach Xiao Jin. The Dou Qi Xiao Jin had gathered earlier had frightened it. It had only dared land before Xiao Yi Xian because she was there; otherwise, it would have fled long ago. Xiao Yi Xian hugged the giant eagle's head. Though the current outcome was not all that bad, she and Xiao Jin had no feelings for each other after all.

"Chirp, chirp." The Blue Eagle cried twice and rubbed its large head against Xiao Yi Xian's chest. The sight made Xiao Jin furious. "Is this Blue Eagle male or female?" Xiao Yi Xian found Xiao Jin's childishness rather amusing. "You're even jealous of a magical beast?" "I don't care. As long as it's male, it's not allowed." Xiao Yi Xian did not know whether to laugh or cry. "Fine, fine. Little Blue is female. Are you satisfied now?"
