"What do you think, Marshall?"
Just then, Marshall, who had been forced into a bathroom retreat by one of Lily's killer moves, had somehow already come over to stand beside them. Adam smiled as he asked.
"Even if you hadn't said anything, I was already planning to accept Barney's invitation and go to Goliath National Bank."
Marshall smiled bitterly. "Life without a job is torture, and I hate walking around in Big Underpants every day."
"Whatever you decide, I'll support you, sweetheart."
Lily pulled Marshall down to sit beside her, then started making out with him in front of everyone.
Becca, Adam, and Ted exchanged looks and smiled knowingly.
But things soon became a little awkward.
Because Marshall and Lily, the married couple, were clearly getting into it and began acting as though no one else were there.
"Ahem."
Adam gave a light cough and reminded him, "Marshall, same as before. Go work at Goliath National Bank and build up experience properly. Don't get involved in Barney's games. He can afford to play, but you can't."
"Mm."
Only then did Marshall let go of Lily and nod solemnly.
With that heavy burden lifted, everyone's mood improved.
Laughter filled the room.

Just then, both Adam's and Becca's pagers went off.
"Black Alert?"
Becca picked hers up and looked at it in surprise.
"Stay here. Don't move!"
Adam said it as he rose to his feet and rushed out of the bar.
After Adam left, the guard outside the bar stepped inside and closed the door, one hand resting on the pistol at his waist as he vigilantly watched the movement outside.
"What happened?"
Becca was a little dazed.
"Another shooter probably showed up at the hospital."
Marshall and the others looked grave.
