David seemed to have aged several years. His face was haggard as he blamed himself. "I shouldn't have been so busy with work. I should have listened to you and sent Linda to New York earlier. Then this wouldn't have happened... It's all my fault!"

Holding her hand, Adam consoled David. "This was something no one wanted, something no one could have foreseen.
"David, you still have Emma to care for. You need to take good care of yourself."

David wiped at the tears that kept spilling from his eyes and looked through the glass window at his daughter, who had entered the ICU the moment she was born.
"From now on, Emma is all I have. I'll love her with everything I have."
