Sheldon walked out of the office somewhat dazed, politely closing the door behind him.
"How did it go?"
Leonard had been waiting outside.
"I got my job back."
Sheldon hurriedly shared the good news.
"Really? What happened?"
Leonard asked in surprise. "Did you actually apologize?"
As Papa Len, he knew stubborn Sheldon's temperament all too well.

And although Dr. Gablehouse was the Physics department head, he had absolutely no persuasive power in any area of physics.
So even though Sheldon's Mom had forced Sheldon to go apologize,
Papa Len had known from the start that Sheldon's apology would probably have no effect whatsoever.
Otherwise, this whole series of events would never have happened.
Before the welcome party where Sheldon had first met Dr. Gablehouse, Papa Len had repeatedly reminded Sheldon to be polite.
But in the end, all of Sheldon's politeness had been contained in the phrase, "No disrespect intended."
Other than that, everything he said had been outrageously disrespectful and insulting.
So Papa Len believed a Sheldon-style apology would inevitably be more of the same.

As Sheldon walked, he scratched his head and hesitated. "It involved human experiences I've never encountered before."
