Adam returned after half a year because of Ben's condition. After treating Ben, he walked through the hospital and found that it had changed dramatically.
Sure enough.
Dr. Bailey becoming B.C.B. was no accident.
The atmosphere in the hospital was worlds apart from when Adam had been in charge.
Every now and then, he saw male and female medical staff exchanging flirtatious looks, openly teasing each other without a care for anyone else, even sharing fleeting kisses before heading one after another toward the break rooms, restrooms...
"Adam, you're back."
The Chief of Surgery hurried over excitedly.
"Chief."
Adam greeted him with a smile, then gave him a once-over and finally found the source of the hospital's decay.
Even the chief at the top looked as flamboyant as flowers in spring. No wonder those beneath him followed suit and completely let loose.
"What is it?"
The Chief of Surgery was so immersed in it that he had not noticed anything unusual. Seeing Adam look at him, he could not help lowering his head to inspect himself.
"Chief, you seem to be in great spirits."
Adam smiled. "Got a date?"
"Yes."
The Chief of Surgery looked a little awkward but still nodded. "You know about Adele..."
At that point, he could not continue.
"I know."
Adam nodded and did not make him go on.
It really was bizarre.
The Chief of Surgery had previously been headed for divorce with his wife, Adele, but they had later reconciled.
Yet who would have thought that Adele would not only share a husband with Ellis Grey, but also share Alzheimer's Disease with her?
Adele gradually began forgetting things and was occasionally brought to the hospital because of accidents.
Later, her condition worsened until she could no longer care for herself.
