Adam, who was performing surgery, received a call from Rajesh and the others.
"What happened?"
Adam asked casually.
After Rajesh and the others roughly explained the situation, Adam glanced into the Operating Room and decisively said, "I'm in surgery right now. This isn't urgent. We'll talk when I get there."
Then he hung up.
"Dr. Duncan, if it's urgent, you can leave the rest to me."
Violet quickly offered.
"It's fine."
Adam smiled and shook his head.
Violet was skeptical.
With Dr. Duncan's skills, it wasn't the first or second time he had taken calls while operating.
This time, he had hung up without even talking it through. It had to be because the matter was unusual enough that even Dr. Duncan might be distracted.
"It's not what you're imagining."
Adam saw through her thoughts at once and smiled oddly. "The main reason I hung up was because I was afraid that if we kept talking, you guys wouldn't be able to hold it together and would laugh yourselves silly, affecting the surgery.
The things my friends do and the things that happen to them can practically make people laugh their guts out."
"Those scientist friends of yours, Dr. Duncan?"
Violet asked curiously, "Are top scientists like them all this funny?"
"Of course not."
Adam immediately shook his head. "Even among scientists, they're oddballs. A lot of their colleagues can't be bothered with them and have very strong opinions about them.
Because those oddballs have caused quite a bit of negative impact on the scientific community. A lot of uninformed people see them and assume all scientists are like that.
They've especially had the greatest impact on teenagers. Many teenagers who have seen them decisively gave up their dreams of science."
"Hahaha!"
Laughter immediately broke out throughout the Operating Room.
