Adam drove Sheldon and the others back.
"Ah~ Daddy's home~"
The moment Sheldon got home, he immediately sat back down in his designated spot on the couch. Then, with a look of utter satisfaction, he uttered something loaded enough to make everyone glance at him.
"Do you know someone who especially likes saying that?"
Adam couldn't help laughing.
"I do. It must be you!"
Penny sneered. "To all those beautiful women."
Clearly, Sheldon had bluntly relayed Adam's words earlier and easily shattered Penny's defenses.
Adam merely smiled without saying anything.
He was no debater. When it came to the truth, he never deliberately called white black.
That was true for Penny not being on the hit list.
The same went for everyone else.
Adam could understand why Penny was upset, so he wouldn't retaliate against her sarcasm.

Of course, there were limits.

Just then, Leonard walked in holding a magazine.
After getting out of the car, he hadn't come upstairs with them. Instead, he had immediately rushed to a nearby newsstand and bought a gossip magazine.
"What is this?"
Penny snatched it away. Looking at the huge photo of her lifelong enemy on the cover, she read the headline with envy, jealousy, and resentment. "The Man Behind Laila? Hmph! There's more than one man behind Laila!"
"That's not the point."
Leonard eagerly reminded her, "Look at who the man is."
"Isn't that Dr. Reed, the guy who looks exactly like Sheldon?"
Penny took a closer look and recognized the other star of the magazine cover.
"Reed isn't the man behind Laila."
Looking at the cover, Adam teased, "He's clearly standing in front of Laila~"
"That's not important."
Leonard said excitedly, "Look, Dr. Reed has his hand on Laila's shoulder, and Laila is tilting her head
