"Hi, Charlie, look at you. You're only nine months old. You're so adorable!"

A blonde girl of fourteen or fifteen held a DV camera and filmed a baby girl. The baby looked utterly baffled, but she obligingly clapped her hands. After all, this was the sister who often looked after her. Better not mess with her!

"Now look at how adorable I am!"

The blonde girl was at the age when she cared most about looking pretty. Even though her little sister's clapping was ridiculously cute, she immediately turned the camera toward herself and took a lovely selfie.

"I'm your sister, Teddy. I'm filming a video diary to help you find your place in our, um, special family! And this is Dad and Mom!"

As she said that, Teddy pointed the camera at a middle-aged couple. The man was tall and burly, but unsurprisingly bald. The woman had blonde hair and a face full of motherly affection. They had clearly dressed up carefully.

"Teddy, are you sure you can handle it?"

Mom, Amy Duncan, looked worried. "Maybe we shouldn't go after all, Bob?"

"Teddy?"

Dad, Bob, looked questioningly at his eldest daughter.

"I can handle it!"

Teddy insisted, "You two can't even remember the last time you went out on a date alone. Go have fun tonight. It doesn't matter how late you come back! Besides, PJ's here too! Ha, speak of the devil, and there he is!"

Adam pushed the door open and walked in.

Teddy hurried over and pointed the DV camera at Adam. "Charlie, this is your big brother, PJ..."

"Call me Adam!"

Adam cut her off and smiled at the camera. "Charlie, I'm your big brother, Adam!"

Keeping a video diary to record his sister's growth and the family's warm everyday life was a sweet thing to do. Naturally, Adam supported his sister Teddy. Besides, being as ordinary as he was, he wasn't afraid of being on camera. He was always so ordinary, after all!

"All right, looks like Big Brother really doesn't like the name Grandpa gave him."

Teddy shrugged with a smile. "But that makes sense. If Grandpa had named me by combining two words for toilets, I definitely would've gone crazy! It hasn't been easy for Adam to put up with it for so many years!"

"Understanding is everything!"

Adam raised both hands.

"Oh? Looks like someone's in a great mood!"

Mom keenly noticed Adam's mood and warily asked, "Did you make up with that girl from the Dunn family again? I'm telling you, none of us likes her. Right, Bob?"

"Heh heh."

Bob chuckled without agreeing, giving Adam a look that said he was on his own.

"Teddy?"

Amy shot Bob a fierce glare before turning to Teddy.

"Charlie, hurry and ask your big brother what good thing happened!"

Instead of answering, Teddy changed the subject and teased her little sister.

She did hate Amy Dunn, but she couldn't join in. She was getting ready to start dating too. If Mom dragged the whole family along to condemn and sabotage every person she disliked, then what was the point of dating at all?

She absolutely could not let that precedent be set!

"You little ingrates!"

Mom cursed resentfully.

"Hehe, Mom, haven't I been good enough? I was the one who suggested you two go out on a date and relax!"

Teddy grinned ingratiatingly.

"So that's how it is!"

Adam picked up the thread. "Then go ahead. Teddy and I have Charlie, so don't worry. Mom, don't overthink it. Amy and I are completely over. She's already on her way to New York. The reason I'm happy is that I suddenly saw the light!"

"That's wonderful!"

Mom happily jumped up, clapping her hands. "PJ—oh, no, Adam, it's good that you came to your senses. Mom knew better. That Amy Dunn was completely wrong for you. What kind of woman treats a man like a doll she can dress up and manipulate? You're so innocent. I was afraid she'd ruin you. Good thing she's gone. Let her go ruin someone else, as long as it isn't you! Thank God!"

Adam's acting skills were impressive, and he was very committed to the role. He had even fooled his family, making Mom worry herself sick all the time.

Teddy rolled her eyes. He's innocent? Heh!

Adam understood what Teddy meant and gave a reserved smile. Though he had dated many girlfriends and been forced into becoming a drama king, he truly was a good boy!

"Dear, it's about time."

Dad, Bob, held his watch up in front of Mom, Amy. They had dinner reservations tonight.

"Go on, have fun!"

Holding Charlie, Teddy followed Bob and Amy to the door. She looked down at her little sister and added, "But don't have too much fun. There are already enough kids in this house!"

"Haha."

Amy and Bob both laughed. Amy teased little Charlie before pushing the door open and leaving. Bob was about to go too when Teddy reached out and stopped him.

"I mean it!"

Teddy said seriously.

"..."

Bob's mouth twitched, and he immediately stopped laughing. Of course he understood what Teddy meant...

"Bob?"

Amy called impatiently from outside.

"I'm coming!"

Bob gave an awkward smile and hurried out.

"All right, shall we divide up the duties evenly now?"

Holding Charlie, Teddy arranged, "Each of us will take care of Charlie for an hour. Who wants to go first, Adam? Gabe?"

"You only thought of me now?!"

On the living room couch, a boy around ten sat with his arms crossed and complained, "I thought you couldn't even see me!"

"How could that be? I was saving you for the grand finale. You know the most important person always makes their entrance last."

Teddy was a little embarrassed. She really had forgotten about this younger brother just now, but she would never admit it. She hurriedly handed Charlie to Adam, took the DV camera, and aimed it at Gabe. "Charlie, this is your second brother, Gabe! Gabe, is there anything you want to say to Charlie?"

"Heh heh."

Gabe sneered at the camera. "You ruined my life!"

"All right, looks like Gabe needs a little more time to get used to you."

Teddy forcefully explained to the camera, "Because you're kind of like a surprise!"

"I thought surprises were supposed to be good things!"

Gabe shot back sharply.

"All right, Teddy, just the two of us should take care of Charlie!"

Adam held Charlie and smiled. "We'll switch every hour. Do you really dare let Gabe take care of her?"

"You can try it~"

Gabe gave a mischievous grin.

"You have a point!"

Thinking about how troublesome Gabe usually was, Teddy immediately gave up the idea of letting him look after Charlie. She did not want to witness a family tragedy.

"Since Gabe doesn't count, can we each take two hours? You go first. You know, I'm meeting someone later to study, and one hour isn't enough..."

"Meeting someone to study?"

Adam understood and teased, "Perfect. I just got tutored up to eighth-grade material recently. Shall we study together? Let Charlie sit nearby and play. Charlie's very well-behaved. She won't distract us, right, Charlie?"

"Ha!"

Adam bounced Charlie in his arms, and she clapped and laughed.

"..."

Teddy was instantly dumbfounded. She had talked Dad and Mom into going out on a date, and she had even prepared lipstick and breath freshener. Was she really going to spend the evening studying with her brother while looking after her little sister?
