Two thirty in the morning.
Juno pushed open the master bedroom door.
Adam was taking Sandra's pulse, holding her wrist. He gave Juno's teasing look an awkward smile.
Juno stood there with her arms crossed, watching with amusement as Adam fed the deeply sleeping, unconscious Sandra some water.
"Let's talk outside."
Adam signaled with his eyes.
Though he could communicate with Juno through eye contact, that was only for common exchanges.
When it came to conversations involving specialized new terminology, they still had to speak.
Juno nodded and walked out of the master bedroom.
Then, under Adam's astonished gaze, she pushed open the guest bedroom door and gave a few instructions to Karen, who was also still awake.
Karen, dressed in pajamas, shot Adam a glare before getting up and entering the master bedroom.
"With Karen watching her, I'll feel more at ease."
Juno teased him with a double meaning. "So, how did it feel? A witch really does taste incredible, huh?"
"Let's talk business. Business."
Adam gave an embarrassed laugh.
Juno had done this, first, to prevent some melodramatic scenario where Sandra overheard their conversation.
And second, to prevent certain unspeakable melodramatic accidents.
