Medical Center.
Nurses' station.
"Of course you were wrong."
Nurse Know-It-All sneered. "Obviously, you got too full of yourself. We were all worried you wouldn't be able to hold a scalpel anymore."
"Dr. Duncan too?"
Carter asked anxiously.
"To be a doctor, you have to stay calm and steady."
Nurse Know-It-All reminded him, "Otherwise, you'll end up unable to hold a scalpel. Dr. Carter, are you calm and steady enough?"
"I..."
Carter wanted badly to say that he was, but faced with Nurse Know-It-All's teasing gaze, he couldn't get the words out.
"Violet, just tell me everything."
Carter gritted his teeth and pleaded.
Sooner or later, he had to face it.
Just like how he hadn't known he'd mastered the peerless lightness skill Sky Dance and had been practically floating everywhere he walked.
Who knew what other flaws he had that he didn't know about?
Back when he had been the only one following Dr. Duncan, he hadn't thought much of it.
But now, three competitors had suddenly appeared.
Each one put tremendous pressure on him.
There was no need to mention Shorty Melendez. He was practically a watered-down version of Dr. Duncan at the start of his career.
Even Lexie and George, who had been laughing at his misfortune, were, one a top student from Harvard Medical School and the other a seasoned surgical intern with a year of experience.
Laughing was one thing, but Carter didn't really think he was better than them.
Sigh.
He was no longer Dr. Duncan's only little follower. Otherwise, Dr. Duncan wouldn't have kicked him straight into the emergency room without a word.
"Carter, you're still not steady enough. Your foundation isn't solid."
Seeing that Carter truly recognized his mistake, Nurse Know-It-All stopped calling him "Great Doctor Carter" and offered a kind reminder.
