A Prophecy Fulfilled: The Real God of War Returns

Late at night.

Duncan Apartment.

Beep.

Beep.

Adam's pager went off.

"Huh, that fast?"

Adam picked up the pager and glanced at it in surprise.

The firefight on TV was still ongoing.

The NYPD had sealed off the scene. No one could get in, and no one would try.

By Adam's estimate, the hospital shouldn't get busy until the firefight was over at the very least.

Or perhaps it wouldn't get busy at all.

He hadn't expected the hospital to page him over already.

"I'm heading to the hospital first. Stay home, and don't go out tonight. Watch out for stray bullets."

Adam spoke as he prepared to leave.

"Take us to Monica's first."

Juno smiled. "With such a huge commotion tonight, we can keep her company and feel more at ease."

"Good idea."

Adam's eyes lit up. "I almost forgot. Bring the first-aid kit too, just in case."

"Okay."

Juno nodded and went into the bedroom. Skillfully using her fingerprint and password, she opened the hidden door in the partitioned room, took out a first-aid kit, then led Karen downstairs after Adam.

Adam dropped them off first, went upstairs to greet Monica and the others, then hurried back to the hospital.

"What happened?"

The moment Adam arrived at the Medical Center, he asked curiously.

"Golden Light Nursing Home was attacked too. The director was shot dead on the spot, while the other caregivers were either killed or injured."

George immediately explained.

"The attacker seemed to be a soldier who had just returned to the country."

Carter added, "His mother happened to be at Golden Light Nursing Home. After hearing the news and seeing that photo of the residents being subdued with sedatives, he grabbed a gun and stormed in to take her back."
