After getting the information he needed from Agent Jessie Paige,
Adam indulged in a brief fantasy before tossing those irrelevant matters completely aside.
The next day.
Adam turned his attention to the fourth and fifth surgeries in his clinical research.
These two lucky patients.
One had been excluded by Mr. Aubrey's bad luck.
The other had been enveloped by Mr. Aubrey's good fortune.
Adam felt great.
Not only would both cases succeed, they would also bring gratifying new progress to his clinical research.
Early in the morning.
Adam made rounds with The Four Interns.
"Hello."
"Dr. Grey, is that him?"
The girl lying in the hospital bed sized Adam up while wiggling her eyebrows at Lexie.
The night before, Adam had assigned Shorty and Lexie a patient each.
Clearly, Lexie and this patient had gotten along quite well.
"She gave you a nickname."
Lexie said apologetically.
"Oh?"
Adam had been in an exceptionally good mood lately. He did not mind a patient teasing him, so he smiled at the girl and played along. "What nickname?"
"New York Medical Center's Brain Surgeon!"
The girl teased.
"I'm sorry."
The girl's parents immediately apologized.
After all, "brain surgeon" easily brought to mind the infamous serial killer known as the Ripper.
It was hardly a flattering nickname.
"It's fine."
Adam waved with a smile. "Whether it's Brain Surgeon or Adam's Hand, they're just names. But in the hospital, it's best to call me Dr. Duncan, like everyone else."
"Okay, Dr. Duncan."
The girl replied with a playful smile.
She had wanted to salute like a soldier, but one of her hands could not move at all, and moving the other took great effort.
So she only raised it slightly before giving up, her gaze dimming considerably.
The tumor's spread had already left her half-paralyzed.
