At the Chief of Surgery's request, Adam had come over.
"Dr. Duncan..."
Dr. Campbell was scrubbing in. The moment she saw Adam enter, she understood everything. Shaking her head, she mocked, "This surgery must really be something special if it even brought you here.
Did Richard send for you?
If you ask me, you'd be better off spending that time with Dr. Green.
What if he's not in good shape after his heart surgery and causes a medical accident? Wouldn't that ruin his lifetime reputation in one stroke?
How could you, his disciple, bear to let that happen?"
"You're a senior figure in medicine, as well as Dr. Grey's and the Chief of Surgery's mentor," Adam said with a smile. "Dr. Grey has told me about many of your brilliant surgeries. I've long wanted to learn from you, and I hope you won't hold back your valuable medical experience.
As for Dr. Green, I believe in his ability.
When he needs me, he knows I'll be there to support him."
"Dr. Green took on a good disciple." Dr. Campbell gave Adam a look. The mockery faded from her face, replaced by a smile. "If Richard had been as generous as you, his achievements might not have fallen short of Grey's!"
How could Dr. Campbell, shrewd all her life, fail to understand the Chief of Surgery Richard's petty schemes and hidden thoughts?
That was why she had mocked the Chief of Surgery and pointed out that Adam's relationship with Dr. Green was like the Chief of Surgery's relationship with her.
Now, both she and Dr. Green had run into trouble.
The different ways Adam and the Chief of Surgery handled things left her deeply moved.
