Medical Center.
Liz's arrival had made the hospital quite lively.
Meredith, Dr. Bailey, and the others had all come to visit her.
Back when Liz had been struggling at the hospital, she had not had a single confidant besides George.
Then she had caused that scandal and been persuaded to leave.
But whether it was people or things, what was far away seemed sweet while what was close grew tiresome. That was human nature.
Having already left this environment, Liz returned this time in a completely different, vulnerable position, which instead greatly increased everyone's goodwill toward her.
Even the Chief of Surgery came by after hearing about it and offered a few words of concern.
Except for Adam, of course.
Because at a glance, he could tell Liz was being utterly shameless.
This visit to the hospital was most likely a pity ploy.
Otherwise, she would not have had George call her Danny.
And she had even told George not to trouble Adam...
The symptoms she described were rather elusive, something that could exist or not exist. She could make up anything with just her mouth—hard-to-verify hallucinations.
And what she had hallucinated was a heart that had once witnessed how much she had given for Danny.
Combined with this setting...
It seemed to be reminding Danny not to forget the kindness of old.
The whole plot was far too much like the palace-intrigue pity ploys Adam had seen in his previous life.
And the truth was exactly as Adam had guessed.
Night fell.
"Heh, men!"
"Heh, men!"
"Heh, men!"
That contemptuous tone could be heard everywhere in the hospital.
"I really never thought Danny was that kind of person..."
Meredith looked utterly incredulous.
"That bastard!"
George said angrily, "And Liz actually forgave him!"
"Women—no, everyone—must ultimately rely on themselves."
