Mark's eyes shifted as he put on a sincere expression. "I was just urging him to be kind. Not to be such a scumbag like I used to be. The Medical Center can't tolerate someone that scummy."
"Really?"
Callie looked skeptical. She could not believe Mark Sloan, the king of scumbags, would be so kind-hearted.
"Of course it's true."
Mark sighed. "Since all that happened, I've changed a lot. Have you heard about any scumbag behavior from me lately?

Mark shook his head. "That was his fiancée. Every night, she knelt on the floor and prayed for him to return safely, like a virtuous wife and mother.
And what did he do? He didn't even tell her he was back. He just sent one email to break off the engagement."
