Dr. Shepherd let out a loud scream to vent his feelings, and Mark and Kelly joined in.

Just as the mood was starting to develop like something out of a TV drama, with everyone preparing to roar together and let it all out, a special guest joined the screaming party ahead of schedule.

They heard it before they saw it.

"Holy shit!"

Everyone froze and looked toward the shout. When they saw a massive figure emerge from the woods, they abandoned their slouched poses at once, scrambled to their feet, backed away, and started cursing.

"A bear!"

Dr. Montgomery cried, "Damn it, Derek, I told you we couldn't live here!"

She had lived here with Dr. Shepherd for a while before, trying to win her husband back.

She had even gotten a Poison Ivy Rash on an embarrassing part of her body and had nearly suffered herself to death over it.

Only now did she learn that there were bears in these mountains.

If she had run into one while she was here before... or if one had caught her relieving herself in the woods... The thought alone made her shudder in fear.

"Let's get inside!"

Kelly said shakily, "A bear can't rip through the metal siding, right? Damn it, somebody help me up!"

If she could have moved, she would have run inside already.

But at the sight of that enormous brown bear not far away, her legs had gone limp. How could she possibly take a step?
