"What's wrong?"
Cristina listlessly worked through the cases in her hands.
Ever since the hospital changed its surgical residency training regulations, it had become impossible for junior residents to focus single-mindedly on the specialties that interested them.
The comprehensive rotation system among all departments had been put back into operation, broadening residents' skills so they would not be confined to one narrow area and make unnecessary mistakes.
Today, Cristina had been assigned to the ER, where she was responsible for handling ordinary emergency patients.
"You forgot? Adam asked me to go take a look at Dermatology."
Meredith said miserably, "I don't want to be a dermatologist!"
"Here!"
Cristina slapped one of the charts in her hand into Meredith's hands. "This one's yours. Go on."
"I told you, I don't want to go."
Meredith was losing it.
"Then why did you agree to Adam last night?"
Cristina struck at the heart of the matter.
"..."
Meredith had no answer.
She couldn't exactly say she was a little intimidated by Adam, could she?
"What kind of case is this?"
Not wanting to explain, she could only helplessly flip through the chart.
"A patient with tender erythema, from the upper chest all the way down the left arm."
Cristina looked regretful. "I paged Sloan. I was hoping it might be Flesh-eating Bacteria, but sadly, he said it wasn't."
If it were Flesh-eating Bacteria, the patient might need an amputation.
That was her favorite.
"Maybe it's just dermatitis."
Meredith skimmed the chart and gave her conclusion.
"Heh."
Cristina laughed.
"What?"
Meredith looked up in confusion.
"Adam was right."
Cristina teased, "Maybe you really are suited to being a dermatologist.
Tsk, tsk.
Look at you. You haven't even gone yet, and you already think like a dermatologist.
Just dermatitis?
