"Let's toast our hero!"
House, Wilson, and the Three Ducks were popping champagne in the office to celebrate. The moment they saw Dr. Cuddy enter, they immediately began cheering.
Dr. Wilson handed Cuddy a glass of champagne he had prepared earlier.
Cuddy did not refuse. She took it and began drinking.
Seeing this, everyone cheered and whooped.
But as Cuddy kept drinking without pause in one long gulp,
their cheers seemed to be cut off. They could only silently watch their hero, whose mood was clearly off.
"It shouldn't have been like this..."
Dr. Cuddy drained her glass in one go, then looked around at everyone and sighed. "Vogler still has some real substance."
"Then why did you oppose him?"
Dr. House gave her a long look. "I believe Adam's tiny bit of help wasn't the main point."
"Because you refuse to wear a white coat, because you refuse to compromise!"
Dr. Cuddy said sadly, "And because he extended his attacks on you to the patients.
You may be a complete and utter bastard!
But at the very least, you're still saving people!
Saving those patients who can't be saved anywhere else and are about to die in despair!
He shouldn't have used that to put obstacles in your way, using patients' lives just to disgust you!
Life shouldn't be nothing more than a string of numbers for people like him to toy with as they please!
That crossed the line!"
"Now that Dr. Duncan has entered the picture and Vogler has left, isn't this the best possible ending?"
Dr. Wilson tried to steer the mood back toward something happier and more positive.
"Maybe."
Dr. Cuddy shook her head. "But in the end, Adam Duncan is still a capitalist.
I can't be
