The tome turned its pages, releasing the energy and distributing it among the dead souls of Netherworld Ghost City.

Vengeful ghosts wailed miserably. Each endured a portion of the lightning tribulation amid agonized screams, then died.
Yet as the ghostly blue-green tome turned another page, it spread incomparably delicious soul energy.
One batch of dead souls perished beneath the tribulation, while another great mass of souls belonging to Netherworld Ghost City followed in their wake.

Behind her loomed a hundred-zhang-tall phantom of the Death God, robed in black and hooded, its soul burning with ghostfire.
Between its enormous skeletal hands, it held a dripping black scythe.
