Tears of a Veteran

Before this economic crisis, Tom had never thought he would take part in any kind of protest. After all, his life had been fairly comfortable. He had enough to eat and enough to wear, which already met Tom's minimum requirements.

But now that the economic crisis had erupted, Tom understood the gap between himself, a member of the lower classes, and America's upper society.

Although he could still barely survive, for the sake of his family, Tom had no choice but to find a way to improve their lives.

At least in Tom's view, asking the government to issue veterans' benefits ahead of schedule was a good choice.

After all, this was part of the compensation he had received for once fighting for the United States, enduring the jolting journey to Europe to fight in the war.

If they merely asked the government to issue the veterans' benefits early, the government should agree, right?

Tom still felt somewhat uneasy, but after hearing John say that more than ten thousand veterans had already been invited, he gradually set his mind at ease.

Surely, as long as the US Government was not full of fools, it could not ignore the request of a march involving tens of thousands of people.
