On this day that should have been as ordinary as any other, because it was designated as the founding day of the empire and the coronation day of Arthur, the first emperor of Australasia, it became quite extraordinary.
Long before the arrival of the new year, around Christmas of 1932, the surroundings of Saint Arthur's Fort were already packed with domestic and foreign media.
Frenzied citizens had crowded into Saint Arthur's Fort even before January arrived, and the reason for their frenzy was simply to secure a very distant vantage point during Arthur's coronation ceremony.
Just how crazy were the Australasians?
According to data from the Ministry of Transport, starting from December of last year, trains arriving in Saint Arthur's Fort from all over were packed to capacity, and even adding several more operating trains did nothing to help.
Saint Arthur's Fort, with a population just exceeding one million, currently had an estimated population of over 1.5 million lingering in the urban area.
This was extremely fatal for the maintenance of public security in Saint Arthur's Fort. Because of the shortage of police manpower, the Capital Special Zone had urgently transferred thousands of police officers from other states, with the sole purpose of maintaining order to the greatest extent possible during Arthur's coronation ceremony.
The good news was that the citizens also knew how important this coronation ceremony was to Arthur. Although everywhere was already heavily congested, acts of crime and lawlessness rarely occurred. Once they did happen, they were forcibly stopped by surrounding public-spirited Australasians.
