"What question?" Hearing that Martin had not come to mock him and France, De Gaulle's expression improved considerably. He asked the question.

"Are you really willing to watch France march toward destruction?" General Martin asked meaningfully.

"What can I do?" De Gaulle shook his head helplessly and gave Martin a bitter smile. "I'm only the commander of the Armored Corps. I can't even influence the Paris Garrison, much less the military or the government's decisions."

"No. You have the ability now." Martin shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes as he looked at De Gaulle.

"Hm?" De Gaulle froze for a moment before quickly raising his head to look at Martin.

"General De Gaulle, would you like to become France's Commander of the Army?" Martin continued smiling, but his words left De
