"What kind of Thaumaturgy is this? It can have an effect like this at the first ring?"
Even Miss Louisa was astonished. She asked for some water to taste, then had Shade continue feeding the professor water.
Miss Louisa was indeed a Fourth Ring Arcanist. She easily analyzed things that Shade had failed to notice:
"This really is Gluttony Thaumaturgy? It can actually convert emotions into Life Energy. I see—healing is achieved by replenishing Life Force. The feeling of fullness in the body isn't an illusion; the body is genuinely being brought to a state of fullness. It can be learned at the first ring, and it can even be used on others. So far, the only side effect seems to be a drastic short-term decline in the desire to eat. This really is—hic!"
Shade turned to look at her in surprise, even pausing as he fed the professor water. Miss Louisa's face visibly reddened. She pressed her lips together and raised her shoulders, forcibly suppressing the urge to hiccup a second time.
"What? Have you never seen a lady hiccup?"
For some reason, Shade was reminded of Mia hiccuping nonstop after drinking water yesterday, to the extent that she had gotten angry at herself.
"Hurry up and wake Professor Manning. I... I'm going to the washroom to touch up my makeup. I'll also tell the maid downstairs not to panic. Be careful here as well."
With that, she stood up with a red face and walked out of the bedroom without looking back.
Listening to Miss Louisa's footsteps fade away, Shade looked at the little water bottle in his hand.
"This probably counts as a side effect too."
Miss Louisa did not return from downstairs for quite a while, and Shade wisely chose not to mention the hiccuping again.
