"What terrible news. Then could you help deliver this money to Mr. Lemmer's family? I imagine they must be in great need of it."
Although he had learned what Mrs. Lemmer's request was, Shade did not forget to keep acting. Just as he had expected, Mr. Deral waved a hand at him.
"I know Leimer has a distant relative in Tobesk who can inherit the estate, but only the lawyer knew the exact address. Since he has unfortunately passed away, I don't think there's any need to return this money."
Mr. Deral and Mr. Lemmer had been old friends for many years, and he sounded somewhat sorrowful as he spoke.
After offering a few warm words of comfort, Shade watched Mr. Deral fetch glasses and red wine, and the two shared a drink. As they clinked glasses, they wished for the soul of Mr. Lemmer, who had been buried beneath the sea, to rest in peace.
Shade had achieved his goal and had no need to linger. He intended to leave immediately after drinking, but the liquid in his glass reminded him of another red liquid. Out of pure curiosity, he blinked and used the spell Blood Echo to inspect the room.
The result was greatly unexpected. The floor and walls were normal, but the entire ceiling glowed with a chilling blood-red aura. It was not that the ceiling had been stained with blood; rather, blood was seeping downward from somewhere above on the 2nd Floor.
Judging from the amount, Shade found it difficult to imagine what the situation upstairs could possibly be.
"Are you sure Mr. Deral is an ordinary person?"
He had already confirmed it when entering, yet he still could not help asking.
Absolutely sure.
"All right."
It seemed there were still matters regarding Leimer's inheritance commission
