It was as though the arrival of exam week had brought everything else to a halt. Over the following week, nothing else happened.

The descent of the evil god upon Tobesk seemed to have become a dividing point. Before that moment, all manner of incidents had occurred in rapid succession. But after the evil god was defeated by the deity summoned by the "God Summoner," as the local Ring Arcanists called him, it seemed as though all evil in the city had vanished along with it.

Of course, that was impossible. It was merely Shade's illusion. The brief period of peace was simply because he had barely left home lately.

Iluna temporarily left Tobesk on Monday for the Sun Church's headquarters, where she was to be questioned about matters related to the Murmuring Chapters. It was not merely an inquiry; there apparently was some sort of reward as well, though they would not know what it was until she returned next week. Miss Louisa and Doctor Schneider were both troubled by exam week—the former found Ancient Languages a huge headache, while the latter's Aether Mechanics nearly gave even a professional psychologist a psychological illness. Priest Augustus was occupied by both exam week and preparations for the Saint Prayer Festival. He was the busiest person of the week.

As for Miss Galina, Shade did not know whether she was recovering from her injuries or doing something else, but she did not contact him that week either.

On top of that, his luck was poor. Not a single client came knocking from Monday through Friday, so Shade enjoyed a relatively idle stretch of time after arriving in this world.
